Diary of a Shepherd Dog was shown as a television series on the KRO from 1978-1980 with the Flemish actor Jo de Meyere as the young chaplain Erik Odekerke. Other roles were played by Ko van Dijk, Bruni Heinke and Rene Soutendijk, among others. The series was a resounding success and has been broadcast in Germany, Finland and South America, among others.

Albert Verlinde, together with Toneelgroep Maastricht, presents the spectacular musical based on the popular television series of the same name. Angela Schijf, William Spaaij, Nandi van Beurden, Susan Seegers and Anne-Mieke Ruyten, among others, made their appearance in the musical production of Servé Hermans.
